What were new things that you learned about the Beatitudes? I have always heard about the Beatitudes, but I have never fully delved into learning about them. I learned so much new information regarding each Beatitude and why they were so important. Finer details such as how they were told and why they made such a large impact helped them resonate with me. They are each different and relate to Jesus' teachings in a unique way. They also relate to my personal life and give me helpful guidelines to live my life morally. By learning about this Beatitudes, I can further explore my relationship with Jesus and strengthen my morals. Which beatitude resonates with you the most and why? What specific things did you learn from your group's parable? My group's parable was The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant, which teaches forgiveness and mercy. A King calls one of his servants who owes him ten thousand bags of gold in debt. The servant was not able to pay, so the King orders the debt to be passed on to his wife and kids. The servant begged the king and said, “‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything’” (Matthew 18:27). The King then canceled all of the servant’s owed debt. Then the servant went out and found a fellow servant who owed him a hundred silver coins and began to choke him demanding that he pays him back. When the man pleas for time, the servant disrespects that and has him thrown in jail. By word of mouth, the incident comes back to the King. “‘Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’” (Matthew 18:33).
